PURPOSE: An information processing apparatus and method are provided to specify abnormal processing unit. CONSTITUTION: An information processing apparatus comprises: a control unit(110) for controlling a plurality processing units(120,130,140); and a switch unit(150) having a network switch(153). The network switch has a plurality of communication ports. The processing units and control unit are accessed to the plural communication ports. The network switch converts the plural communication ports for communication by local area network.
