<p>A container such as a suitcase (1, fig 1) has first and second body portions, 2,3 and a closure device (5,6, fig 1) operable to hold the first and second body portions 2,3 in a closed position. The closure device comprises an engagement element 5 which extends from the first body portion 2 of the container, and a clasp (6, fig 1) attached to the second body portion 3 of the container (1, fig 1), and releasably engageable with the engagement element 5, thereby to hold the second body portion 3 in position with respect to the first body portion 2. The clasp includes a locating element 20 which extends from the second body portion 3 and which defines a locating aperture 21, a clasp body 10 which has at one end region thereof an engagement portion 12 for engagement with the engagement element 5 and having an elongate pivot portion 11 located at another end region thereof, and a hinge element 14 rotatably mounted on the pivot portion 11 with first and second retaining portions 16, 17 extending through the locating aperture 21 of the locating element 20.</p> |
