PURPOSE: A dual standby portable terminal and a communication operation method thereof are provided to easily return a normal service state service of a communication module in a dual standby state. CONSTITUTION: A first communication module(210) supports communication channel forming with a first wireless communication network. A second communication module(220) supports communication channel forming wit a second wireless communication network. An abnormal service state of a dual standby portable terminal is transmitted to a normal service state, the first communication module searches for a base station based on BS(Base Station) channel information.
