988,707. Trimming material in bunkers; shoots. KLOCKNER-HUMBOLDT-DEUTZ A.G. Sept. 27, 1961 [Nov. 2, 1960], No. 34676/61. Headings B8E and B8S. Coal is carried by conveyer 1 and discharged therefrom down shoot 2 on to endless conveyer 3. Conveyer 3 is driven in direction A and is also given a bodily movement. Thus conveyer 3 from the position shown moves bodily to the right to discharge the coal into hoppers 4, 5, 6 and then 7. At this point the direction of driving of the conveyer belt is reversed and additionally the direction of the bodily movement is reversed so that conveyer 3 then moves bodily to the left and discharges into hoppers 11, 10, 9 and 8 consecutively. In this way, due to the inclined inwards positioning of the hoppers, the coal falls on to and down the gently sloping surfaces of the hoppers in turn and avoids attrition. |
