A granulate comprises glass fibre incorporated in synthetic resin, e.g. selected from polyamides such as the condensation products of diamines and discarboxylic acids or amino-carboxylic acids and the polymerization products of cyclic lactams, such as polyhexamethylene-diamine adipate and poly-e -aminocaproic acid, linear polyesters of carbonic acid and aliphatic and/or cycloaliphatic and/or aromatic dihydroxy compounds, e.g. the polycarbonate from 2,21-bis-(4 - hydroxyphenyl) - propane, 1,11 - bis - (4-hydroxyphenyl) - cyclohexane and 4,41 - dihydroxy-diphenyl sulphide, polyvinyl chloride, polystyrene, and cellulose esters, e.g. cellulose acetate or acetobutyrate. In examples the granulates comprise (1) poly-e -amino-caproic acid containing glass fibres of 1 to 3 mm. length, (2) a polycarbonate made from 2,2-bis-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-propane containing glass fibres of 1 to 3 mm. length, (3) poly-e -aminocaproic acid containing chopped 4-spun rovings of glass fibre. |
