PURPOSE: A suction nozzle for a vacuum cleaner is provided to prevent through-holes, through which air containing dust and foreign material is flowed, from being shield by forming a guide groove which guides the air passing through between the bottom surface of a cover plate and a target cleaning surface. CONSTITUTION: A suction nozzle for a vacuum cleaner comprises a case, a punching unit, and a cover plate. The punching unit repetitively pressurizes a target cleaning surface. The cover plate is formed in the lower end of the case and covers the punching unit. The cover plate comprises first and second bottom parts and through-holes. The first and second bottom parts faces with the target cleaning surface. The bottom surface of the punching unit is contacted with the target cleaning surface through the through-holes. The bottom surface of the first bottom part is spaced from the target cleaning surface and the bottom surface of the second bottom part is contacted with the target cleaning surface.
