Wavelet-based analysis of pulse oximetry signals

A method of processing a pulse oximetry signal captured using a pulse oximeter, the method comprising decomposing the pulse oximetry signal by wavelet transform analysis, and deriving one or more physiological parameters from the decomposed signal, wherein the decomposed pulse oximetry signal is processed to derive respiration information, in which the respiration information is derived from high amplitude ridges using ridge-following methods and/or by phase methods and/or by cross scale correlation of phase values and/or by analysis of amplitude or frequency modulation.
