The invention concerns a medical service deployment system for use in a medical facility. A model of the medical facility is stored on a data storage device. A record of the availability of one or more resources within the medical facility and records of a plurality of tasks to be undertaken within the medical facility are also logged. The records have a task execution parameter and a location of the task to be undertaken in the medical facility. Portable communication devices associated with the resources are in communication with the data storage device, each communication device has location determining means. One or more processors are arranged to compare the availability of the one or more resources with the task execution parameter of one or more tasks to be undertaken and to assign a resource to the one or more tasks in dependence thereon. Tasks may be assigned based on cumulative totals of task execution parameters and/or task locations within the medical facility. |
