A health food for preventing and treating abdominal obesity or fatty liver contains Nelumbo nucifera root extract as an active ingredient. A method for preparing Nelumbo nucifera root extract comprises: a step of collecting and washing Nelumbo nucifera root; a step of isolating with water, alcohol, or mixture thereof; a step of filtering the extract; and a step of compressing/concentrating and freeze-drying. |
