In a process for making oilcake, e.g. linseed cake and mustard seed cake, non-toxic for animals, potentially toxic glucosides present are destroyed by steaming the oilcake for about 45 minutes with live steam and then drying it, e.g. at a temperature not exceed 80 DEG C. The oilcake may be broken into small pieces before being steamed. |
