A method of manufacturing a composite insulating panel comprising: a) providing a first sheet 2; b) providing a former 25 on top of the sheet; c) laying liquid foam reactants on top of the former and first outer sheet; d) placing a second top sheet 4 on top of the foam reactants; e) allowing the foam to expand to fill the space between the sheets to define a foam core and ; f) removing the former 25 from the foam leaving longitudinally extending conduit 7 means in the panel. Optionally a barrier membrane 10, such as a foil or tape, may be laid over the formers and bonded to the first sheet before the foam is applied. The former may be shaped so that after the foam has expanded the conduits extend into the foam core. The first and second sheets may move along a bed, wherein the formers are static relative to the bed. |
