PURPOSE: A telescopic fork is provided to optimize space utilization within the telescopic fork and to arrange an optical control unit in a protective position to control the position of an upper slide. CONSTITUTION: A telescopic fork comprises chain guiding grooves(26a,26b). The chain guiding grooves are formed in lateral intermediate positions between vertical planes(P11,P12) where flanges(11,12) of a lower base part(10) are extended. A first optical device(F) is fixed in the lower base part. A second optical device(C) is fixed in the underside of an upper slide(30). At least one through-opening part(23) is formed in an intermediate slide(20) between the upper slide and the lower base part and is arranged between the first optical device and the second optical device in at least one working position of a fork.
