PURPOSE: A deodorizing and sterilizing apparatus and method is provided to increase the generating amount of an active species, and to obtain highly effective deodorization and sterilization by gathering floating bacteria or offensive odor substance into one site in order to contact to the active species. CONSTITUTION: A deodorizing and sterilizing apparatus comprises a plasma electrode part(2), ventilating apparatus(3), an adsorption unit(4), explosion-proofing apparatus, and a power source(6). The plasma electrode part generates active species like ion, radical, etc by micro gap plasma. The ventilating apparatus is installed outside the plasma electrode part, and compulsively blows air to the plasma electrode part. The adsorption unit in installed in the opposite side of the ventilating apparatus, and adsorbs floating bacteria or offensive odor substance. The explosion-proofing apparatus is installed outside the plasma electrode part in order not to spread fire generated from the plasma electrode part to outside. The power source applies high power to the plasma electrode part. |
