PURPOSE: A method for solidifying a polymer of radioactive waste is provided to maintain the compressive strength of a solidified solid material to be over a setting value by maintaining a mixing ratio of a polymer and an additive hardener within an optimal range. CONSTITUTION: Radioactive waste to be powder or granulated is introduced to a storage tank(11) through an ion-exchange resin of a micro particle form or a concentrated waste drying system form. The intended amount of the radioactive waste is introduced from the storage tank to a stirring tank(12) through a valve(11a). Polyepoxy, polyester, or a mixture thereof is introduced from a storage tank(13) to the stirred tank through a metering pump(13a). A rotating vane(12a) is installed in the stirred tank to perform uniform stirring in the tank. The radioactive waste and the liquid polymer are uniformly mixed inside the stirred tank. The mixture is introduced to a mixer(15) from the stirred tank through the metering pump. A uniform solid material(17) is formed by an aging drum(16). |
