A method of guiding courses using an avatar for a washing machine is provided to provide a user with the convenience in using by demonstrating how to use it with the avatar. In a control of a laundry machine having a display unit for indicating the information about laundry courses, a method of guiding courses using an avatar for a washing machine comprises a step of indicating a plurality of menus for informing a user of each stage in all laundry processes; and a step of allowing a selected avatar to guide a required input corresponding to a chosen menu when the user chooses one among displayed menus. The avatar has a shape and a movement representing the chosen menu. If the user inputs the information according to the guide of the avatar, the selected stage actually starts. When the avatar guiding courses is displayed on the screen, sounds and letters are simultaneously played with the avatar. The display of the avatar is conducted independent of the audio output and the letter display. |
