A method and a system for providing a ring back tone corresponding to message contents are provided to supply various ring back tones according to message contents received in a terminal, thereby enabling a user to previously guess the contents before checking a message when the message is received, and providing interests to a service user. A method for providing a ring back tone corresponding to message contents comprises the following steps of: receiving a message(S210); determining whether there a keyword to which the ring back tone is set is present in the message by analyzing the received message(S220,S230); and if so, outputting the ring back tone which is set by corresponding to the keyword(S240). If not so, a preset basic message ting back tone is outputted(S250). Before the above first step, a terminal accesses a ring back tone managing server through a communication network and downloads a ring back tone service providing application, for providing the ring back tone corresponding to the message contents, from the ring back tone managing server. |
