PURPOSE: A book sanitizing method and an apparatus thereof are provided to prevent overlapped sanitization and to enhance air purification and disinfection efficiency by negative ion generation due to corona discharge. CONSTITUTION: A book sanitizing method comprises the following steps: reading information of book which will be disinfected(S10); distinguishing whether the book is sanitized by analyzing information(S20); locking door of a main body if the book is done sanitizing and opening the door of main body if the book has not been sanitized yet(S30); distinguishing whether a disinfection operation signal was input or not after opening the door of main body(S40); repeating up to the operation signal input step until the disinfection operation signal is input if the disinfection operation signal has not been input and locking the door once the signal is input(s50); sanitizing by circulating air inside the main body while spraying disinfectant to inside the main body after locking the door(S60); purifying air while disinfection operation is on(S70); and recording information of books which disinfection is completed once the disinfection operation is completed(S80).
