PURPOSE: A semiconductor device and a data sensing method thereof are provided to reduce an area of the semiconductor device by sensing data stored in a memory cell without an additional reference cell. CONSTITUTION: A memory cell array(10) includes a memory cell arranged at an intersection between a bit line and a word line. A sensing unit(40) senses the data stored in the memory cell. A connection control unit(41) controls a connection between a bit line and a sensing line based on a voltage level of the bit line and a control signal with a variable voltage level. A sense amplifier(43) senses data stored in the memory cell by comparing the voltage of the sensing line with the reference voltage.
