摘要 An LCD and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to reduce the number of masks, thereby improving the manufacturing efficiency, by forming source and drain electrodes, a semiconductor layer, and a pixel electrode using a zinc oxide layer. A gate line(212) and a gate pad(232) are formed on a substrate. A gate insulating layer is formed on the substrate. A zinc oxide thin film is formed on the gate insulating layer. The zinc oxide layer is pattern-etched to form a data line(214) crossing the gate line, a data pad(234), a thin film transistor region, and a pixel electrode(220) in a single body. A passivation layer is formed on the zinc oxide pattern. Contact holes for exposing the data line, the data pad, the thin film transistor, the pixel electrode, and the gate pad are formed in the passivation layer. Ions are implanted in the exposed portions of the data line, the data pad, the thin film transistor, and the pixel electrode.
