PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for irradiating and controlling a charged particle beam are provided to change an irradiation state/non-irradiated state of a charged particle beam at high speed by stabilizing the charged particle beam coming out. CONSTITUTION: A cyclotron(2) includes a pair of accelerating electrodes(23,24) connected to a high frequency power source and an ion source(21) generating an ionizing particle. The cyclotron includes an plurality of counter electrodes(25-28) arranged in both sides of the accelerating electrode and a phase slit(34) arranged in the both sides of the circuital orbit of a charged particle. The accelerating electrode is arranged in a central part of the cyclotron. The charged particle generated from the ion source is applied with an acceleration voltage by the accelerating electrode. A control device controls the acceleration voltage accelerating the charged particle. |
