<p>The installation has an obturation unit (44) controlling access to a chemically inert passage i.e. rectilinear circulation channel (42), that passes exhaust gas traversing a selective catalytic reduction catalyst (16) provided with a urea injecting unit (54). The channel is situated in a central region of a chemically active monolithic porous body (36) of the catalyst. The obturation unit has a movable valve (46) movable under the action of a control unit (52). A three valve oxidation catalyst (12) is situated in upstream of the selective catalytic reduction catalyst. An independent claim is also included for a method for treating pollutants contained in exhaust gas of an internal combustion engine.</p> |
