Separating multi-branched paraffins in a hydrocarbon feedstock containing linear-, mono- and multi-branched paraffins having 5-7C per molecule, comprises contacting the feedstock with at least one adsorbent zeolite framework of sodalite structural type of zeolitic imidazolate frameworks (ZIF) containing an inorganic network of metal based zinc (2+) cations connected together by organic ligands imidazolates substituted in position 2, to produce at least a first stream enriched in multi-branched paraffins and a second stream enriched in linear and mono-branched paraffins.
