<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a honeycomb filter capable of catching particulates in an exhaust gas discharged from an internal combustion engine while suppressing the deterioration of a catalytic activity. <P>SOLUTION: The honeycomb filter 100 is composed of a porous ceramic containing aluminum titanate and has a plurality of channels 110a and 110b segmented by a partition wall 112. In an end face 100a, one end of the channel is sealed by a sealing part 114, and in the other end face 100b, the other end of the channel is sealed by another sealing part. On the surface of the partition wall in the channel 110b, a catalyst-priming coating film 116 including at least one aluminum component of γ-alumina or its precursor is formed. The covering amount of a catalyst-priming coating film is 0.5 to 20 mass% based on the total amount of the honeycomb filter, and the content of Na in the catalyst-priming coating film is 100 mass ppm or less based on the total amount of the catalyst-priming coating film. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
