<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a superconducting wire rod in order to obtain an easy-to-handle superconducting coil exhibiting high stability at a low cost, and to provide a superconducting coil. <P>SOLUTION: The superconducting wire rod contains at least one kind of non-metal fiber having a static friction coefficient of 0.01-0.2 at 270-300K for SUS and/or a dynamic friction coefficient of 0.01-0.15, and the at least one kind of non-metal fiber covers the outer periphery of a superconducting material as a covering yarn.
