PROCESSING METHOD FOR MEDIA STREAMS, AND MEDIA GATEWAY

Provided are a processing method for media streams, and a media gateway. The method includes: determining coding and decoding information about two endpoints of a media stream; processing the media stream according to the coding and decoding information about the two endpoints if all of the coding and decoding information about the two endpoints does not belong to a coding and decoding ability set supported by the media gateway, with the processing including transparent transmission processing. The embodiments of the present invention can improve the call success rate and reduce call loss.
