The method involves aligning empty gabion baskets (2) and connecting the baskets to form a formwork (3) having formwork elements (31). The fill material (5) is deposited between outer side of formwork elements and baskets, and a monolithic concrete core (4) is formed by filling fresh concrete in inner space (32) of formwork. The formwork elements are removed before start of setting of the concrete, where the concrete is partially penetrated through the fill material passes and a sound-absorbing boundary layer (6) is formed between concrete core and fill material. An independent claim is included for gabion wall.
