The system has valve device (14) fixed on the wheel hub (11). The valve device has valve seat with valve disc provided on side of sealing surface via piston rod. The pressure is made to act on both control line (16) and supply line (17), to reduce tire pressure, while air escaping from tire is made to pass to vehicle-side valve. A sensor is provided to measure pressure in vehicle side blocked off supply line. The valve device has wheel-fixed unit of two-channel sealed passage and non-wheel fixed unit for rotary joint (15), that form the fixed terminals for control line and supply line. An independent claim is included for method for tire pressure control using tire pressure control system.
