<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing technique capable of realizing more accurate block matching. <P>SOLUTION: An image processing apparatus calculates an activity value that indicates a higher degree of activity as pixel values vary more largely among pixels included in a first block included in a first image, calculates a first evaluation value that indicates higher evaluation as a difference between the pixel values in the first block and pixel values in a second block included in a second image is smaller, calculates a second evaluation value that indicates higher evaluation as correlation between a spatial relative relationship of the pixel values in the first block and a spatial relative relationship of the pixel values in the second block is higher, and calculates a third evaluation value to search for the second block corresponding to the first block from the first evaluation value and the second evaluation value with the rate of the first evaluation value made larger as the activity value is higher and the rate of the first evaluation value made smaller as the activity value is lower. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
