<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a touch panel which can achieve both improvement in detection accuracy and reduction in power consumption. <P>SOLUTION: For each line or each intersection point of lines formed in a lattice shape on a prescribed surface of a panel, contact or approach of an object to the panel is detected, and thereby detecting a position on the panel where the object has contacted or approached. In performing the position detection, all of the lines or all of the intersection points are coupled to perform detection processing and, according to the detection result, detection range of lines or intersection points to be detected is controlled, and in the range determined by the control, the position where the object has contacted or approached is determined to output positional information. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
