<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus allowing acceptance of an operation input even if a display screen on an external device has a different layout from that of a display screen of a control-object MFP. <P>SOLUTION: An apparatus stores, in an external operation panel, a position coordinate of a display screen component of a standard-connected operation panel and a position coordinate of component of an external operation panel by correlating the two coordinates using a conversion table. When a component of the external operation panel is input for instruction, a system controller uses the conversion table to recognize the same coordinate as the coordinate value on the standard-connected operation panel, thereby enabling acceptance of the operation input even if a display screen on an external operation panel has a different layout from that of the display screen on the standard-connected operation panel. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
