<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a metal mask having the excellent joining property between a mask body and a frame body, and capable of easily removing an adhesive agent, and the frame member used in the manufacturing method, and a method of manufacturing the same. <P>SOLUTION: The metal mask 1 includes the mask body 2 having an opening pattern 6 including a plurality of independent through holes 5 in a pattern forming region 4, and the frame body 3 for reinforcing the mask body 2 arranged on the outer periphery of the mask body 2. First, a metal body 15 corresponding to the mask body 2 is formed. Next, a frame member 3' is arranged so as to surround the metal body 15. Then, a metal layer 9 is formed so as to cover a surface of the frame member 3' and a surface of an outer peripheral edge 4a of the metal body 15, and the metal body 15 and the frame member 3' are inseparably joined. The frame member 3' includes the frame body 3, a second metal material 33, and an adhesive layer 34, and the frame body 3 includes a frame material 31, and a first metal material 32.
