<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition for a packaging material, which maintains multi-functionality, suppresses multi-layering, and does not need any resin unnecessary for a desired container; and to provide a packaging material and a packaging container using the same. <P>SOLUTION: The composition for a packaging material includes a kneaded material of: 90 to 60 wt.% of a high-density polyethylene obtained using a metallocene-based catalyst; and 10 to 40 wt.% of an ethylene vinyl alcohol copolymer. The high-density polyethylene has density of 950 to 970 kg/m<SP POS="POST">3</SP>, a MFR of 3.0 to 30 g/10-min (190°C), and a die swell of 1.2 to 1.6; and the ethylene vinyl alcohol copolymer has an ethylene content of 35 to 50 mol, and a MFR of 10 to 20 g/10-min (210°C), and has a particle diameter thereof in the kneaded material of 20 to 100 μm.
