<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce failures in backup of data into an external storage device. <P>SOLUTION: A data processing apparatus is provided which backs up data into an external storage device and includes access control means which sets an accessible state to the external storage device, setting means which sets the external storage device as a backup destination of data, and backup means which backs up data into the external storage device which is in the accessible state and set as the backup destination. In the case where the external storage device instructed to cancel the accessible state is not performing access and is not set as the backup destination, the access control means cancels the accessible state of the external storage device and even in the case where the external storage device instructed to cancel the accessible state is not performing access but is set as the backup destination, the access control means does not cancel the accessible state of the external storage device. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
