The present invention relate to the use of bioimpedance measurement in a rapid, cost- effective, and noninvasive adjunct to digital rectal examination and PSA in differentiating tumor from normal prostatic tissue. The method and apparatus differentiating between tumor and normal prostatic tissue and measures bioimpedance in terms of resistance or conductivity in a pathway that passes through the prostate. Preferably the method and apparatus measures the delta of the electrical resistance values between the pathway value left foot- right foot (anode to cathode) minus the pathway value right foot-left foot (cathode to anode). |
