The carrier (1) has an input unit (4) for inputting data into the data carrier by a user. The inputted data are processed in a semiconductor chip (2). The thermochromic color layer (5) is provided in the top face of the data carrier main portion. The color of the thermochromic color layer is changed by performing thermal energy change in the color layer such that the data input from the input unit is acknowledged. An independent claim is included for method for confirmation of data input of user into portable data carrier.
