PURPOSE: A video display and an operation method thereof are provided to convert a selected two-dimensional image into a three-dimensional image and to increase use convenience of a user in three-dimensional image display. CONSTITUTION: A display device(180) displays a received image in three-dimension in case of a three-dimensional viewing mode. A storing unit(140) previously stores the previous viewed image. In case in a controlling unit(170) selects an image in the storing unit or converts a channel, the selected two-dimensional image into a three-dimensional image. The controlling unit controls the display device in order to display the converted three-dimensional image.
