<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve flexibility and extendibility in a network. <P>SOLUTION: The network system comprises: a node which performs frame communication based on a Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE); a network which transfers a frame; a controller which performs management of the node and the network; and a gateway which is provided with the node. The frame is classified into a control frame and a data frame. The gateway determines whether the frame received from the node is the control frame or the data frame, transfers the control frame to the controller, and transfers the data frame to the network. The controller makes management based on the control frame received from the gateway. The network transfers the data frame received from the gateway to a transmission destination node without the intervention of the controller.
