<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a portable network connection device fulfill proper roles in the cases of the presence and absence of a router, respectively. <P>SOLUTION: A portable network connection device capable of being connected in a wired or wireless manner to a router comprises: a packet transfer processing section that operates by being set in either a first operation mode of operating as a bridge function section or a second operation mode of operating as a router function section; a detection section that detects the presence or absence of connection with the router in the portable network connection device; and an operation mode control section that sets the operation mode of the packet transfer processing section to the first operation mode when the presence of the connection is detected by the detection section. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
