<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer, which can reliably inform a user of the fact, via a printed matter, when a print job is interrupted due to interruption of a power supply, without waiting for the resuming of the power supply, and which eliminates the need for a large-scale backup power supply. <P>SOLUTION: The printer includes: a marker providing means 22 displaceable between a first position separated from a recording medium S and a second position abutting on the recording medium and providing a marker indicating that information printed on the recording medium S is invalid at the second position; a biasing means 23 biasing the marker providing means 22 toward the second position; a holding means 21 generating holding force holding the marker providing means 22 at the first position during a period when supplied with electric power; and a control means 5 supplying electric power to the holding means 21. When a printing mechanism detects that a power supply voltage is lower than a threshold during printing information on the recording medium S, the control means 5 interrupts the electric power supply to the holding means 21, the holding means 21 loses the holding force, and the marker providing means 22 is displaced to the second position. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
