[Problem] To provide a rotary machine which can be produced with good work efficiency and which is configured so that the misalignment between the impeller and the shaft during rotation can be reduced. [Solution] A rotary machine comprises: a shaft for rotation; and an impeller having a disc which has a substantially cylindrical hub fitted to the shaft and which is provided so as to gradually expand outward in the radial direction as the disc extends from the front end toward the rear end of the hub, the impeller also having blades provided on the surface of the disc. The hub has: a tight fit section having an inner radius less than the radius of the shaft; and a loose fit section having an inner radius greater than the inner radius of the tight fit section. The loose fit section is provided closer to the front end of the hub than the tight fit section.
