<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a detection error of a positional signal arithmetic section for computing a position detecting value based on a polyphase output signal output from a resolver, by a simple constitution. <P>SOLUTION: The rotation angle position detector includes: a multipolar resolver for outputting the positional signal having phase differences for every 360°/N (N is integer equal to or more than 3) according to the rotation angle of a rotor, while having two or more axial double-angles; the positional signal arithmetic section for computing the position detecting value based on an N-phase positional signal output from the resolver; a signal changeover circuit for changing over inputs of the N-phase positional signal to an N-phase input terminal of the positional signal arithmetic section with sequentially shifted N-steps; and a detection error calculation section for measuring N times detection errors from the position detecting value in the whole angular range of a mechanical angle 360° for every time changing over the input by the signal changeover circuit, calculating an average value of axial double-angle range for every axial double-angle number as to each of the measured N times detection errors, and calculating the detection error of the positional signal arithmetic section based on an average value of the calculated N pieces of average value of axial double-angle range. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
