<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing device that prevents ununiform charging of toner in a toner thin layer without using plural regulation members, and an image forming apparatus including the developing device. <P>SOLUTION: A developing device has a developing roller that rotates while carrying toner on the surface thereof, and a regulation member that regulates the thickness of the toner on the developing roller so as to visualize an electrostatic latent image with the toner conveyed after regulation by the regulation member. The developing device further includes a first protrusion that is situated upstream in the rotating direction of the developing roller and a second protrusion that is situated downstream in the rotating direction of the developing roller, which are disposed integrally over the longitudinal direction of the single regulation member; and allows the protrusions to come into contact with the developing roller, instead of causing plural regulation members to come contact with the developing roller. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
