PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aluminum extruded material matting method allowing the surface of the aluminum extruded material to be matted without producing sludge of an ammonia compound of strong toxicity.
SOLUTION: The aluminum extruded material is matted by dipping a degreased aluminum extruded material in a warming treatment bath with potassium fluoride and hydrofluoric acid at the concentration of 0.15-0.3 mol/L respectively and at a bath temperature of 50-70°C to cause an aluminum melting reaction of hydrofluoric acid and a potassium cryolite-producing reaction by melted aluminum and potassium fluoride. A fine and beautiful matted surface with a surface roughness Ra of 0.9-1.1 erasing die marks of the aluminum extruded material can be obtained. Produced by-product sludge is potassium cryolite which is collected and reusable as a flux agent for aluminum refining or the like. The desirable matting method free from an adverse effect on an environment which sludge has can be provided.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
