The module (2) has an insert part (1) closing a tank aperture that is formed in a region of a tank bottom of a liquid tank. The insert part comprises a removal opening (5) associated with a tank inner space. A filter element is associated with the removal opening. A protective cap is arranged on a side of the filter element, where the side of the filter element is opposite to the tank bottom. The protective cap extends through outer periphery of the filter element. The protective cap is arranged between the filter element and a heating element. The protective cap is made of steel wool, open-pore sponge element or filter material. An independent claim is also included for a liquid tank for an exhaust gas treatment system of a motor car, comprising a tank aperture.
