The method involves opening a bypass channel, when the evaporator (200) of the air conditioning system is out of operation. The bypass channel is partially closed, when the evaporator of the air conditioning system is in operation. An opening of the evaporator is closed in a fluid-tight manner. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a computer program product for executing the method; and (2) a control unit for controlling an opening or closing of a closable bypass channel to an evaporator of an air conditioner of a vehicle.
