PURPOSE: A heat pump having a boiler and a control method thereof are provided to offer a efficient heating or water-heating function to users by using a boiler when indoor temperature is lower than a pre-set temperature. CONSTITUTION: A heat pump(1000) comprises an outdoor unit, a hydro unit(H), a boiler(700), a heat-radiating heating unit(600), and a control unit. The outdoor unit compresses refrigerants. The hydro unit heat exchanges the compressed refrigerants and water. The boiler heats water circulating the hydro unit or supplied from a waterworks. The heat-radiating heating unit proceeds heating by heated water in the hydro unit or boiler. The control unit controls the outdoor unit, the hydro unit, and the boiler according to an electricity charge by quantity of heat or indoor temperature.
