A device and a method for dualizing a sensor ECU(electronic control unit) are provided to realize duplication abnormal state of the micro controller in a car sensor ECU by performing dual operation of the sensor ECU without adding a sub microcontroller to the sensor ECU by processing a signal detected in a sensor with the sub microcontroller of a control ECU. A sub microcontroller(300) dualizes a main controller(110). A sensor(210) detects a state of a vehicle. A CAN(Controller Area Network) communicator(240) converts data received from the main microcontroller(220) of a sensor ECU(200) into CAN data and transmits the CAN data. The sub microcontroller monitors the state of the main microcontroller state by communicating with the main microcontroller and monitors the state of the main microcontroller of the sensor ECU by comparing the CAN data received from the CAN communicator with analog data.
