<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for blockading a cell of a honeycomb structural body. <P>SOLUTION: The end face of the honeycomb structural body is covered with a body and a mask having a plurality of opening parts with the same size positioned to face a certain cell channel, and in this case, the outer edge of the body is extended radially outward from the end face. A film is also extended outward from the end face, and a material of a plug is provided on the film. The mask and the film material are mutually sealed, and a force is applied onto the film and the material is pushed through onto the mask to push into the cells. In addition, the mask is attached on a first end face of the honeycomb so that the mask has the outside part radially extending by crossing over the outer edge of the honeycomb; an blockading material with a certain volume is provided; the outside part is clamped between a first clamping part and a second clamping part; and the blockading material is moved in the honeycomb.
