<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chromium-free metal surface treating agent that is optimum as a metal surface treating agent for metals, particularly metal-coated steel, is applicable for a pre-treatment of an upper coating layer such as a paint and is excellent in water solubility, processibility, adhesion property and corrosion resistance, and a metal surface treatment method using the same. <P>SOLUTION: The metal surface treating agent comprises (A) an organosilicon compound having a piperazinyl group represented by formula (1) (wherein R<SP POS="POST">1</SP>and R<SP POS="POST">2</SP>are identical to or different from each other and are each 1-10C non-substituted or substituted monovalent hydrocarbon group; and n is an integer of 0-2) and (B) water and/or an organic solvent. The metal surface treating agent has high water solubility, shows high adhesive strength by excellent adhesion property to a substrate and an organic/inorganic resin coating layer formed on the substrate if necessary, due to elements of a metal and other metal (ion) to be treated and an organosilicon compound silyl group having a piperazinyl group, imparts rust prevention and corrosion resistance of high levels to the resulting coated metal and is capable of withstanding a severe corrosion resistance test and severe environment. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
