<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope having a configuration capable of reliably protecting an inserted article positioned in a bent part to be actively bent and reducing the filling ratio of a member positioned in a flexible tube portion. <P>SOLUTION: The endoscope includes: an insertion portion 2; a distal end portion 3; a first bent portion 4 to be actively freely bent solely; a second bent portion 5 to be freely passively bent; the flexible tube portion 7; a plurality of inserted articles 100, 200a, 200b inserted into the insertion portion 2; and a plurality of protective tubes 101, 201a, 201b having distal ends 101s, 201as, 201bs respectively, the distal ends being fixed on the outer peripheries of the inserted articles 100, 200a, 200b, respectively, on the front from a front end 4s of the first bent portion 4. Base ends 101k, 201ak, 201bk are each positioned on the rear from the front end 5s of the second bent portion 5.
